Federal and Deschutes County Emergency Food & Shelter Funds

When funding is available, we facilitate the deployment of grant funds from the federal government and Deschutes County to agencies meeting immediate community needs.

For 2024, there is $160,142 available in County and federal funds.

Deschutes County has made $78,400 available to support agencies providing emergency food, shelter, and clothing services in Deschutes County.
In addition, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has made $86,023 available to support agencies providing emergency food, shelter, and clothing services in Deschutes County.

We are currently accepting grant applications for these funds. The application is now open and the deadline for submitting applications has been extended to 3:00 pm on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

Federal Emergency Food & Shelter Program

A Local Board, made up of representatives from United Way of Central Oregon, Deschutes County government, American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, and community members representing those experiencing homelessness, nonprofit and government services, and local churches and synagogues, will convene to determine how the funds will be awarded to existing local agency food, shelter, and clothing programs.

Last year, 14 Central Oregon nonprofits that provide emergency food and shelter programs in Deschutes County were awarded funding during this process. They include those Emergency Food & Shetler Partners listed below.
