Sample Bequest Language

The following is the type of language that can be used to make a charitable designation through your Will or Living Trust.

 

An Undesignated or General Bequest

"I give and bequeath to United Way of Deschutes County, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation, presently located at 1130 NW Harriman Ave., in Bend, Oregon, 97701, (and/or the following community agencies or programs) (insert percentage of estate or dollar amount) to be used for general purposes as determined by the Board of Directors.”

 

A Designated Bequest

“I give and bequeath to United Way of Deschutes County, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation presently located at 1130 NW Harriman Ave. in Bend, Oregon, 97701, (percentage of estate or dollar amount) to be used for (the following agencies or programs) in support of their charitable missions.

 

A Bequest for the United Way of Deschutes County Endowment

“I give and bequeath to: United Way of Deschutes County, a 501 (c) (3) non- profit corporation presently located at 1130 NW Harriman Avenue in Bend, Oregon, 97701, (percentage of estate or dollar amount) to the United Way of Deschutes County Community Endowment, which is a perpetual endowment in which the corpus may not be spent and the income from which will be used to meet human needs in Deschutes County.
