Giving Based on Your
Values Taking advantage of Planned Giving opportunities through United Way of Deschutes County allows individuals like you to make a personal commitment to give—to help secure future programs and services—through a current gift or through your estate. You can support our county’s greatest needs by giving to the United Way of Deschutes County Endowment, or focus your contributions by choosing specific programs and issues you care about. Planned Giving allows you a unique opportunity to give based on your values. It allows you the opportunity to consider the things that are important to you, as well as the programs and services that important to our community, and then to make decisions about your charitable support that will make a real difference. Planned Giving is an intentional and reflective process that expresses the best of our philanthropic values and goals. A Variety Of Giving Opportunities A Planned Gift provides opportunities for the gifting of a variety of assets, based on what is best for your financial and estate planning situation. Because every donor’s financial and estate planning goals and objectives are unique, you will want to discuss them with your advisors: financial and legal. United Way of Deschutes County staff can also help you evaluate your options and opportunities. The United Way of Deschutes County Community Endowment Since 1952, United Way of Deschutes County has supported community agencies serving thousands of citizens and their human needs. As our county has grown, so have those needs: to ensure our children are healthy, cherished and ready to enter school ready to learn; to help youth to be happy, confident and responsible; to assist children, youth, adults and the elderly to be safe from violence and abuse; to meet the basic needs of food, clothing and shelter for those in our county who are most vulnerable. To help meet the expanding needs of our growing community for the future, United Way of Deschutes County has established an endowment fund—the UNITED WAY OF DESCHUTES COUNTY COMMUNITY ENDOWMENT—managed by the Oregon Community Foundation, the revenue from which will be used to meet human needs in Deschutes County. You can join other
forward thinking donors who have invested in your community by
making a gift of cash, stock, or real estate to the United Way of
Deschutes County Community Endowment Fund. You can also benefit the
Endowment by establishing a Donor Advised Fund that can carry on
your philanthropic values into the future. You may wish to endow
your annual pledge, or consider a planned gift, e.g., a Charitable
Gift Annuity. It is always appropriate to remember United Way of
Deschutes County, or the United Way of Deschutes County Community
