Corporate Cornerstone Program The United Way of Deschutes County is proud to announce the launch of the Corporate Cornerstone Program—their newest effort to ensure that dollars raised in the community are directed toward the most urgent social service needs. Seventeen Cornerstone Partner companies in the area have chosen to designate their corporate gifts to help underwrite operating expenses. Because of their support, 94 cents of every dollar donated through workplace campaigns and by individuals goes directly to programs that serve residents of Deschutes County. “While the United Way works hard to keep operating costs at a minimum, they remain a barrier for donors who want to see their funds go directly to people in need,” said volunteer Campaign Chair Julie Hammond of Sage Insurance Center. “Our goal is to continue to manage all overhead expenses, while also seeking sponsors to cover those costs. With additional help from our community leaders, we hope to get to the point where we can say that 100% of every donor dollar is invested in programs and services.” To date, Corporate Cornerstone Partners include: Cascade Healthcare Community, RiverWest Builders, The Bulletin, Sunriver Resort, Cessna, Deschutes Brewery, Lifewise Health Plans of Oregon, Microsemi Power Products Group, US Bank, Bank of America, Bob Thomas Car Company, Bryant, Lovlien & Jarvis, Horizon Broadcast Group, Karnopp Petersen, macys, Newport Avenue Market, Pepsi-Cola Company of Bend, Robberson Ford, Selco Community Credit Union and one anonymous donor.
