The Heritage Society

Giving Hand

In 2006, the United Way of Deschutes County (UWDC) inaugurated the Heritage Society to honor and recognize individuals who have made an extraordinary commitment and named us, our endowment, and/or our agencies in their estate plans. Membership in the Heritage Society allows us to express appreciation to philanthropists who are committed to our mission and the services of our partner agencies.

As a main source of endowment support, Heritage Society gifts ensure the future financial stability of our local United Way.

Membership in the Heritage Society is permanent. It continues as long as the qualifying gift plan remains in effect. To become a member you can create a planned gift or inform us of a provision for the UWDC in your estate plans. We encourage those who have provided an estate or planned gift for the UWDC, our endowment or our agencies to share this information with us. We would like to honor and recognize your commitment by including you in our Heritage Society Honor Roll.

All contributions to the United Way of Deschutes County Community Endowment Fund (our permanent endowment) are held and managed by the Oregon Community Foundation.

If you have included the United Way of Deschutes County in your will or estate plans, please let us know so that we may include you as a member of the Heritage Society.
