About United Way of Deschutes County
The United Way of Deschutes County is separately incorporated and independently governed by a local board of community leaders and volunteers. Established in 1953, we help build stronger individuals, families and communities by connecting caring people to improve lives. During our more than 50 years of service to the community, our campaigns have resulted in the investment of more than $23M in agency programs…the business community has been a large part of our success…with employees contributing approximately 50%, corporations 20% and individual donors 30%.
The United Way of Deschutes County remains focused on our community’s most urgent human social service needs and is committed to producing results that matter, changing lives. We provide financial and educational support to 26 partner agencies sustaining 34 health and human service programs throughout Deschutes County.
United Way’s four Community Impact priorities help focus our efforts within the community to produce greater impact. The priority areas have been set, based on community needs, by a diverse group of people who are dedicated to making a difference in people’s lives.
